  • 08.00 - 08.30: introduction and purpose of the course
  • 08.30 - 09.15: history of endoscopy and (r)evolution (laparoscopy, hybrid NOTES, flexible endoscopy)
  • 09.15 - 09.45: the operating theatre, endoscopic technology, ergonomy
  • 09.45 - 10.00: coffee break
  • 10.00 - 10.30: triangulation, energy devices, trocars and clamps
  • 10.30 - 11.00: abdominal access (open and Veress), safety
  • 11.00 - 11.45: suturing, tips and tricks, explanation training afternoon
  • 11.45 - 12.30: lunch break
  • 12.30 - 12.45: introduction skills lab – do and don’ts
  • 12.45 - 17.00: skills lab
    • Basic endoscopic suturing skills
    • Complex endoscopic suturing
    • Introduction flexible endoscopy for surgeons

  • 08.30: welcome
  • 09.00: Suturing and stitching usable in laparoscopic surgery and practical examples. Needles and threads (which ones and when to use)
  • 09.30: introduction and removal of needles and sutures in abdominal cavity: analysis of different techniques.
    • Loading the needle.
    • Adjusting the needle.
  • 10.00: Practical Training
  • 12.00: Lunch
  • 14.00: Stitching techniques depending on different suture line orientation (by using right and left hand, median and lateral trocars).
  • 15.00: Practical Training
  • 17.00: End of the course


  • 09.00: Extracorporeal knot tying.
  • 09.30: Pre-knotted loops and their practical applications.
  • 10.00: Practical training
  • 12.00: Lunch
  • 14.00: Intracorporeal knot tying (with or without needle)
    • Wrapping on right, left, median instrument
    • Recuperation techniques: smiley and knot for free
    • Twist technique (“spaghetti”)
    • Intracorporeal slipknot
  • 15.00: Practical training
  • 17.00: End of the course


  • 09.00: Continuous suturing with or without starter knot;
    • Different techniques of performing the terminal knot.
    • Introduction to the use of self-retaining sutures
  • 10.00: Practical Training
  • 11.30: Question an answering session
  • 12.00: End of the course

Dear Friends and Collegues
it is our pleasure and honour to announce the upcoming Congress Endometriosis2017 from diagnosis to medical and surgical management: a stocktaking international experts' meeting, that will be held in Naples (Italy) from September 14th to September 16th, 2017. We are all aware that nowadays endometriosis is probably the most challenging among gynecological benign diseases, in terms of epidemiologic spread and impact on women’s quality of life. The management of these patients is still charachterised by several critical points. This congress will be a great opportunity to present and discuss the latest developments related to endometriosis disease. Our field is constantly advancing and sometimes is challenging to follow. Our aim is to provide a comprehensive update on the overall management of this disease, from diagnosis to clinical and surgical treatment, with special attention to the reproductive outcome. With this aim, we have made every effort to involve in our International Faculty the top experts in this area, in order to offer the participants a great opportunity of scientific and professional advancement.
